Limpopo DPW Learnerships: Electrical & Building Trades – Applications Open

The Limpopo Department of Public Works, Roads, and Infrastructure, together with CETA (Construction Education and Training Authority), supported by Edu House South Africa and In Touch Community Development and Project Managers, invites unemployed youth aged 18-35 to apply for two 12-month learnership programs. These programs offer skills training, monthly stipends, and nationally recognized qualifications.

Two Learnership Opportunities:

  • Electrical Learnership
  • Multi-Learnership (Building & Civil Construction) with trades in Plumbing, Carpentry, Bricklaying, Painting, and Community House Building

Common Key Details:

  • Monthly stipend: R3,500
  • Duration: 12 months
  • Application deadline: December 19, 2025, at 16:00 (4:00 PM)
  • Age: 18-35 years

Electrical Engineering Learnership:

  • A 12-month program funded by the Expanded Public Works Programme, in partnership with CETA and Edu House South Africa.
  • 4 months of theoretical training followed by 8 months of practical, on-the-job experience.
  • Theoretical training locations: Lebowakgomo, Motantanyane, Centre for Community Development, or Abakholiwe Community Developers.
  • Requirements: Certified Matric Certificate (Grade 12) or NQF Level 4 equivalent, certified ID copy, and CV.
  • Candidates must be willing to relocate for the full duration.

Multi-Learnership (Building & Civil Construction):

  • A 12-month program funded by the Expanded Public Works Programme, in partnership with CETA and supported by In Touch Community Development and Project Managers.
  • 4 months of theoretical training in Polokwane, then 6 months practical workplace exposure.
  • Specializations: Plumbing, Carpentry, Bricklaying, Painting, or Community House Building. Clearly specify chosen trade in the application.
  • Candidates must be willing to relocate to Polokwane for the theoretical training period.

Minimum Application Requirements for Both:

  • Clear certified copy of ID (preferably in color)
  • Clear certified copy of Matric (Grade 12) certificate or higher (minimum NQF Level 4 equivalent)
  • Comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV)

How to Apply:

Applications must be submitted by 16:00 on December 19, 2025. Choose one of the following methods:

    Send CV, certified ID, and certified Matric certificate to the email corresponding to your district:
  1. Hand Delivery:
    Submit your documents at the Registry Office of the Department of Public Works, Roads, and Infrastructure in your district.

Important Application Notes:

  • Clearly specify which learnership you are applying for. If Multi-Learnership, specify your chosen trade (e.g., Plumbing, Carpentry).
  • Use clear subject lines in emails, e.g., “Application: Electrical Learnership 2025” or “Application: Plumbing Learnership 2025”.
  • All document copies must be certified and no older than 6 months; uncertified copies risk rejection.
  • Applicants must be aged 18–35 and willing to relocate as specified.
