YES Youth Opportunity at @Home – Carnival City, Brakpan
Gauteng, South Africa
If you’re a young South African eager to take your first big step into the working world, here’s your chance. @Home, part of the well-known TFG retail group, is looking for energetic, motivated youth to join their team for a 12-month fixed-term contract under the YES (Youth Employment Service) programme. This isn’t just a job – it’s a life-changing opportunity to gain real work experience in a vibrant retail environment.
Why This Opportunity Matters
Finding your first job can be tough. Employers want experience, but how do you get experience without having a job first? That’s where the YES programme comes in – it’s designed to give young people the chance to break into the job market, build skills, and open doors for future career growth.
By joining @Home Carnival City, you’ll not only be part of a brand known for quality and style, but you’ll also receive on-the-job training, meet new people, and gain valuable experience you can use anywhere in the future.
Who Can Apply?
Before you start imagining yourself in your new role, you’ll need to make sure you meet the basic requirements. @Home is looking for applicants who:
- Are between 18 and 28 years old
- Have completed at least Grade 10 (Matric is preferred, but not required)
- Are available to work for 12 months on a fixed-term contract
- Have not worked permanently for more than one year with the same employer
- Are not studying full-time between April 2025 and March 2026
- Have not been part of the YES programme before
- Can cover their own transport and accommodation costs if necessary
- Are part of a designated group under the Employment Equity Act (preference will be given to these candidates)
If you tick all these boxes, you could be exactly who @Home is looking for.
What Is the YES Programme?
The YES (Youth Employment Service) programme is a South African initiative aimed at tackling youth unemployment. It gives young people who have little to no work experience the chance to enter the workforce, learn practical skills, and improve their chances of finding permanent employment in the future.
Being part of this programme doesn’t just help you gain experience – it also connects you to industry professionals, teaches you workplace habits, and boosts your confidence in a professional setting.
Why Work at @Home?
