What You’ll Do: Key Responsibilities
As a shop assistant/cashier, you will:
- Greet and assist customers warmly and professionally
- Operate the cash register accurately and efficiently
- Handle customer payments, refunds, and exchanges
- Ensure shelves are well-stocked, clean, and neatly presented
- Maintain visual merchandising standards
- Assist in unpacking and pricing new stock
- Support your team during peak shopping hours
- Promote special offers and promotions
- Ensure compliance with store policies and cash handling procedures
What You Need: Minimum Requirements
- Grade 10–12 (matric preferable)
- Good communication skills (English and/or local language)
- Friendly, helpful, and customer-focused attitude
- Able to work flexible hours (weekends, public holidays)
- Team player with a positive and reliable attitude
- Basic math skills
- Neat personal appearance
Note: Retail, cashiering, or customer service experience is an advantage but not mandatory. Ackermans provides training for all new team members.
Working Hours & Duration
This is a temporary part-time position for the December 2025 festive season, from mid-November to early January. Expect to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
